Pressing Play, again
Fitting in everything I want to do is hard. I am a big believer of living life in phases with some phases being better suited to certain priorities ovee others. But is it possible to recast all the priorities into new offshoots that can be lived all at once? That's what I'm trying now.
The back story is that I started Cupcake Pilates in 2013. Since that time I've built two houses, moved from Maryland to South Carolina, changed jobs, had a daughter-who is now 1 (not all in that order). During pregnancy and preparing for the big move I stopped teaching Pilates and growing Cupcake Pilates.
But I didn't stop thinking about it.
It is still on my bucket list to have a space to create, be active, curate my life and share with others. So I'm back.
I pressed Pause on Cupcake Pilates, but now it is time to press Play and fit it into my life because I care about it. That is reason enough.
Here is my plan:
- Removing barriers: I never want to sit in front of the laptop in the evening (I do that for work), so I am making technology work for me with apps on my phone for ideas, photos, and posts
- Capturing the morning: Early mornings during the week are dedicated to work, but aside from my morning Pilates practice I squander my weekend mornings milling around on lower priority items. Instead, I'm capturing one weekend morning, while my husband runs and daughter sleeps, to grow Cupcake Pilates (that will still leave me with one open morning)
- Recasting: Focusing on teaching isn't a good fit for this phase in my life with the added schedule strain, so instead I'm going to focus on what I can accomplish in the spaces between my other life priorities. I'm going to share how I let my personal Pilates practice fuel how I live my life and vice versa. I see that involving a lot of writing and some coaching, instead of teaching. It's a life well lived, and I only want to keep striving toward making it sweeter.
