Daily Cupcake #14: Building Your Ideal Day
Life design is a such a a great, relatively new term, for a concept that I've always been close too. Really since the end of high school, I got on board with self-improvement. That time period in my life was decision making time. I could either fall into a negative family pattern (a story for a different day), or I could be different. I chose the latter. It's been some 15 odd years now; I'm happy with the progress.
It's mostly been a lot of disciplined hustle, trusting myself and reading.
I read a lot about living. Then I try the ideas and see where I get.
I feel like I've been able to maintain that because staying healthy is always a priority. When I feel healthy I can do more. I have more energy for building the life that I want to live. That process is positively reinforcing.
When life functions more smoothly, I have more bandwidth for making healthy choices.
Which leads me to this #DailyCupcake about Building your Ideal Day that follows the Pilates principle of "flow". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble: “Don’t have too many days in a row where you aren’t doing what you love.” Steve Jobs
A few bites: Take a few minutes to write out three specific sentences for how you envision your morning, your day and your evening.
Every last bite: What is one new habit that to get you closer to what you envision? Create a plan for it with a “cue”, “action” and “reward”.
