Daily Cupcake #47: Connection
Connection might be the secret to a great life.
Connection in all its forms. Connection to ourselves--passions and personal aspirations. Connection to others--family, friends and community. Connection to our environment--nature but also our stuff.
Maybe wanting connection is because we all know that at some point we won't exist anymore? It's a natural outcome of getting to be alive, not morbid.
This morning I started my day with Pilates, which isn't unusual, but I did do it even earlier in my morning routine because I wanted to feel centered and connected, even tethered to this day.
I now feel connected with how my body is feeling and have a clear perspective on how I want the day to feel.
Today is about the feeling and not the doing. It's going to be a good day.
Which leads me to this #DailyCupcake about Connection that follows the Pilates principle of "centering". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble: “We are not what we own; we are what we do, what we think, and who we love.” Francine Jay
A few bites: Give away one thing that you own that doesn't give you a positive sense of connection.
Every last bite: Call or write a letter to someone with whom you’ve been meaning to connect.
