Daily Cupcake #90: Challenges
This weekend was supposed to go differently.
It was supposed to be camping on the beach, which we've done before. This time, though, it was a different beach and with it came unexpected challenges--the details of which aren't important, than we were willing to take on this weekend.
We folded the tent after dinner and came home.
Instead of lazing on the beach for two days, we suddenly have a free weekend. Which realistically is bringing its own challenges like keeping spirits up after a bum trip, thinking of alternate activities, and managing a toddler boycotting naps, etc.
We've managed by keeping honest communication going (sharing what we really want rather than what we wish we wanted). We also got plenty of fresh air with biking, running, walks and a trip to the park. We ate out and had an awesome risotto for dinner.
Even though plans changed life kept moving.
Which leads me to this #DailyCupcake about Challenges that follows the Pilates principle of "breath". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble: “Life does not stop because we en- counter challenges.” Elizabeth B. Kautz
A few bites: Take a moment to consider something you’ve been putting off because of a challenge.
Every last bite: Resolve to spend an hour taking steps toward (or completing) what you’ve been putting off.
