Daily Cupcake #22: Planning
The days are long, but the years are short.
Thats phrase's meaning has changed for me over the years. When I was in an unfulfilling job thinking of the days as long summed up the boring days and wasted hours nicely. That job is part of my past, and I'm becoming more practiced at living.
Living well is a skill to be learned.
Now thinking of the days as long reminds me of all the potential. There is space for doing, and there is space for just being.
It is just about finding the right spaces and things to fill them.
Which leads me to this #DailyCupcake about Planning that follows the Pilates principle of "flow". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble: “Not the maker of plans and promises, but rather the one who offers faithful service in small matters. This is the person who is most likely to achieve what is good and lasting.” Johann Wolf- gang Von Goethe
A few bites: Do! Cross an item off your list.
Every last bite: Review what you do. Are all your acts adding up to the whole you hope to achieve?
