Daily Cupcake #41: Living
Each night before I sleep or in the morning when I wake up I write out the things I want to do in the day ahead.
I include necessities like chores, but I also make a conscious effort to regard prioritizing passions and steps toward short- and long-term goals as necessities too.
The chores flow onto my list more easily, but I ask myself what will make me feel good about the day?
What can I do in the day that will give me the feeling of being alive?
I think that's the appeal of spontaneity. We are often spontaneous with the passions and steps toward short- and long-term goals, which we tend to neglect as day-to-day necessities.
Which leads me to this #DailyCupcake about Living that follows the Pilates principle of "flow". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble: “People say we are searching for the meaning of life. I don’t think that’s it at all. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive.” Joseph Campbell
A few bites: Day dream about exactly what passion you can start treating as a necessity. Visualize what that life would look like and what it would take to have that life.
Every last bite: Give yourself a morning, afternoon, or evening to rethink the usual necessities and try out adding in your passion as a necessity instead.
