Daily Cupcake #81: Overcoming
Today I ran. I started out to run "my loop" of 3.34 miles, but then I just kept going. I stopped at 6.48 miles. It gave me sometime to think.
It reminded me that sometimes when you're in it you want out.
You want to give up because you think it might not be worth it, but then you hit the seemingly elusive tipping point. Then you see your goal again. You remember why you started. You feel the surge, and you overcome.
Which leads me to this #DailyCupcake about Overcoming that follows the Pilates principle of "concentration". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble: “Hew a stone of hope from a mountain of despair and you can make your life a splendid one.” Michael Yu
A few bites: What activities let you feel like you’ve had a great day?
Every last bite: Make a list and try to start integrating them into each day on a regular basis until you’ve carved out a really beautiful life for your self.
