Daily Cupcake #370: Resources
What's your biggest limiting resource out of the big three- time, money and quality?
Mine is time.
I've spent a great deal of effort over the last year and a half trying to enhance nearly every aspect of my time management. For me being a new mom saw the greatest impacts on how I structure my days from when I grocery shop to when I workout.
Once I got through a basic dailycare routine, it's been about building in the healthy lifestyle activities that I need to keep up with my quality standards.
I've brought regular Pilates and running and preparing healthy dishes back into my life by asking myself "what is the best use of my time right now?"
Since I tend to want to tackle everything, it helps me avoid the low value tasks that are easy to do later. Like if I have a quiet moment, I focus on planning out weekly meals and not swiffering the house (which I can easily do in chaotic moments).
Which leads me to this #Dailycupcake about Resources follows the Pilates principle of "control". Depending on what you need in your day you can take:
Just a nibble- “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." Design Milk
A few bites– Have a lingering project on you task list? Decide what's next and let it go or revise expectations and get it done.
Every last bite– Figure out a strategy to select projects for your task list to help you determine what is really worthwhile for you before it goes on the list.
