Cupcake Pilates was an idea I had one year ago this month. Cupcake Pilates began as a creative means for merging my psychology interests and training with my love of leading a healthy life. There is still much to do in running a business, as it is an ever evolving endeavor, but I’m happy with what I’ve been able to accomplish in a year from traveling to Costa Rica for my focused training with Balanced Body to planning routines and developing this website. The next year will be all about growing as a Pilates instructor and reaching out to help others build daily fitness into their life on their terms. I hope to see Cupcake Pilates inspire people to feel empowered to enhance their lives each day. Pilates has given me so much in the 10+ years of practice that it has become a part of my life in so many ways from keeping me in shape through stressful times to recovering after spinal surgery. I can apply what I’ve learned in practicing Pilates to approaching this new endeavor:
1) Relax- it is a new process and like a new exercise it will take time to master and learn the details.
2) Believe- there is an internal drive that keeps me focused on the big picture and able to see beyond the minor hurdles just as during a class it can feel overwhelming but after is sweet accomplishment.
3) Keep making decisions- even making one small decision each day moves the process forward and allows for accomplishment to build and begin to take on a life of its own just like even doing one Pilates exercise a day will help develop skill and strength.
