Organization is a major player in my life. I couldn't grow a business, practice Pilates and run daily, take care of my family, read regularly, cook healthy meals and take on weekly projects (like trips or gardening) without being organized. Here's what's helped me:
1) Be flexible about your needs and strategies. Organization tools need to be refreshed just like a wardrobe. If it doesn't work like it used to, then change it up. Be selfish with organization and make it pull its weight for you exactly how you want.
2) Less is more. Using organization as an effective tool means ensuring that the set-up is worth the pay off. If I’m organizing a drawer full of stuff I never use, then I’m not using my time well. I should just get rid of the stuff, and never organize it again.
And like most of you, I want to use my time for things that I really want to be doing like Pilates to stay healthy and lean.
