The Start of Cupcake Pilates

Cupcake Pilates was my flash of insight that came one morning while I was engaged in my personal Pilates practice before heading into the office. For the last few years since starting my professional career in health research, I’d been craving an additional outlet that exercised my creativity and ability to impact daily living. That morning I giddily thought to myself that becoming a Pilates instructor and founding my own business would really satisfy that craving. Later that day and with some input from my husband, Cupcake Pilates had a name and a concept that was taking shape. Cupcake Pilates is Pilates plus a little something extra to make life sweeter. Because daily fitness is a challenge for most of us to fit into our schedules I wanted to address that right away with a simple approach. With each Cupcake Pilates class you get a virtual cupcake that gives you a three-part life tip that just might change your life right away. The virtual cupcake is meant to be a fun daily indulgence to help you achieve exactly the quality of life you want that includes daily fitness. It starts just a nibble or rather a simple quote that may help you put a challenge into perspective. If you take a few bites and go a little further you’ll get a 5-10 minute exercise to help you shape your day. While if you spend an hour and indulge in every last bit, you’ll have the opportunity to impact every day. A few bites: Take a few minutes to jot down some ideas about what you enjoyed doing as a child.

Every last bit: Make an appointment in your calendar to spend an hour doing something you enjoyed as a child like clay modeling, reading a book of children’s stories or swinging at the playground.
